S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky maxed out benchmark (DX10.1) on 4870 X2 and Core i7 920 @ 3,78GHz
Running STALKER Clear Sky benchmark with maxed out settings. I was too lazy to OC the CPU to 4,1ghz so I just ran the benchmark on 3,78ghz (24/7 frequency). Yes it runs about the same. Fact is that this guy (holidaysspecialoo) wasn’t running on same settings as I did.
Try it again now with Catalyst 9. 6 (heard great stuff about it performance-wise) and the game patched to 1. 5. 10.

Nah, I’ve got a single GPU system that can play this game on ultra just fine. You’ve just got to have something decent like a 4870, which is what I use. Obviously if you’re running it on stupidly high resolution then yeah you’re going to need two gpus. Luckily I’ve got a second 4870 sitting around ready to go into crossfire when I upgrade to a bigger LCD monitor.

Yes, I have patch 1. 5. 08 patch. You running on the same resolution? AA maxed out? With AA turned off I get 80.
I know, DX 10 is only on ATI cards with this game, but I’m saying that if I get 40+ FPS on max settings you should be getting more. . . Do you have the patch?
You don’t get more on exactly the same settings. With 9800GT you can’t use DX10. 1 btw.

Yes, ultra setting is the highest you can use in this game.

Anyway, nice. I could use some further impvrovements, both on their side as well as nVidia/ATI’s side. From what I know, this game is almost unplayable on single-GPU systems with those kinds of settings. But it is still a awesome game. . .
Remember that this is with maxed AA. Without AA the FPS is doubled. And this FPS is pretty playable in this game.
